| The Seigakuin school system was established in 1903 through the cooperation of Japanese Christians and American missionaries. Seigakuin University was established in 1988 as a Protestant Christian university with the goal of building character and creating a new community based on Christian principles and culture. The school motto is "Love God and Serve His People." Faculty and students join in the pursuit of truth through scholarship and in service to individuals and society. Seigakuin University is part of a family of schools that runs from kindergarten up through graduate school and also includes an international school in Atlanta, Georgia. |

| The university is located in Ageo, a city in Saitama Prefecture with a growing number of enterprises. Many people commute to Tokyo from the area. Surrounded by greenery and fronted by a bucolic stream, there is convenient access to the cultural advantages of nearby cities as well as to metropolitan Tokyo. The heart of the campus is the architectural award-winning chapel and attendant buildings, which were dedicated in November 2004. |

Activities |
| University events include freshman orientation, the spring and autumn Christian emphasis weeks, the spring Juvenalis sports day, the summer and spring retreats, English and Japanese speech contests, the fall Veritas culture festival, the Christmas tree-lighting ceremony, and a number of special Christmas activities. Extracurricular activities include tennis, American football, soccer, rugby, golf, lacrosse, Seigakuin Christian Fellowship, the choir, the hand bell choir, and the symphonic orchestra, among other things. |

Students |
| International students with Japanese language skills are accepted into the regular degree programs. A wide range of Japanese language courses are available to enable international students to continue improving their Japanese in all four skill areas. Annual physical examinations are conducted, and counseling in English, Japanese, or Chinese is provided at the Christian Center and International Center. Information about off-campus housing and part-time jobs is available at the Student Affairs Office. |
