Profile
Our college was founded in 1926 as the Tokyo Conservatory of Music (Tokyo Koto Ongakuin). It was renamed Kunitachi Music School in 1947, and became Kunitachi College of Music in 1950. As a private institution, our school has played an important role in educating a great number of eminent musicians and researchers in this country. What we aim for in our curriculum is the following: a high level of specialization which makes it possible to produce professional musicians and researchers, and a good foundation in the basics which will ensure an educated understanding and appreciation of music.
