| Koriyama Women's University was founded in 1947 with the goal of providing higher education for women. Since the foundation, the focus has been on education in new home economics, keeping our educational policy of studying family life based on the mottoes upon which our school was founded: "Respect," "Responsibility," and "Freedom.". |

| Koriyama, an agricultural and light-industries based city of 328,000 population, is located in scenic northern Japan just eighty minutes from Tokyo by Shinkansen "bullet train." Since the area of Koriyama is rather large, the population density is not so great. Therefore, students enjoy both the cultural benefits of a metropolis and the beauty and healthy outdoor environment of nature. |

| There are various school events. Main events include extracurricular freshmen orientation, Bandai highland school, school sports meet, fall school festival, special art appreciation and culture events. There are also a wide variety of sports and culture club activities. |

| One to two advisors, assigned in each course to give advice on research and school life, provide assistance to for foreign students. The international exchange and education committee also tutors them. Health clinic, personal/ psychological counseling, college housing, housing information, part-time job information, vocational guidance, homestay, home visit, and a cultural exchange program. |
