Kumamoto University has 7 faculities, 8 graduate schools and 14 centers, which supports a wide spectrum of educational and research activities. Kumamoto university is located in Kumamoto city in the center of Kyushu Island, Japan, one and a half hours from Tokyo and one hour from Osaka by airplane.
Kumamoto downtown area, located 10-15 minutes away from Kumamoto university by bycicle and known for a lot of office building and shopping street.

Students are allowed to use university computer with university internet and wireless LAN in university. Students can register for classes, check their grades, confirm the number of credits they have acquired through the university network which is commonly known as SOSEKI.
Student Activities
Popular campus events include school festival, various recreational sporting events. There are a wide variety of extracurricular activities, volunteer, aikido, judo, karate, kendo, kyudo(Japanese archery), sado(tea ceremony), ikebana(flower arrangement), baseball, soccer, tennis, etc. All of them are run by the students themselves.
