[From the Editor]
I heard from an old friend of mine in Kyushu. She said, “I’m getting married!” I was so excited and surprised, living way over here in Tokyo, that I shouted out loud at my computer.

We were in the same class and club in high school, so we were always together. We went to different universities, so I just remember things I did with her during those three years of high school, but I can recall them as if they happened yesterday. The shop we visited after club practice, going to the clothes store together on the way back from school, seeing her perform on the piano and saxophone... there are so many memories that I can’t write them all down here.

During those days, I took it perfectly for granted that we would spend all our time together, but when high school was over, I felt that it was really a precious treasure.

She was so beautiful on her wedding day. Many friends and family came to celebrate, and her smiling face shone radiantly. It was really a great wedding.

She lives far away from me, but I was so pleased that she didn’t forget to tell me about her wedding. Being able to witness this joyous moment in her life made me happy, too.

So how did you like this edition of Japan Alumni eNews? It’s always good to have friends. Tell us about your friends in Japan and your memories with them in the newsletter.

The next issue will be sent on July 10, 2010. Look out for it!
