Syllabus will be revised from 2026 EJU

Support Programs for International Students

In March 2018, new curriculum guidelines were announced for senior high schools in Japan. Following this, partial revisions were also drawn up for the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU) syllabuses, covering the “Basic Academic Abilities” subjects of “Science,” “Japan and the World” and “Mathematics.” These new test versions are scheduled to be introduced from 2026 EJU (first session).
The announcement of the schedule and proposed details of the official syllabus revisions will be posted on the JASSO website in April 2024.
Please note that no changes are planned for the “Japanese as a Foreign Language” subject syllabus.
