Profile
Otsuma Women's University comprises four graduate schools and five faculties, eleven departments located on three campuses. Its foundation was laid in 1908, when Kotaka Otsuma,a pioneer of women's education in Japan, set up a sewing and handicrafts school. The University has since consistently fostered high self-esteem in women and the acquisition of highly-developed skills and broad knowledge. The curriculum also emphasizes a perspective of international-mindedness and versatility in today's world of information sciences.

Environment
Otsuma has three campuses. The main, Chiyoda campus, the oldest, is located in a quiet area of central Tokyo, immediately to the west of the Imperial Palace. Convenient public transport provides direct access to such areas as Shibuya, Shinjuku and Ginza. The Sayamadai campus is located in Iruma city, Saitama prefecture and the Tama campus, in Tama city, Tokyo.

Service for International Students
All or a part of school fees of international students who obtain admission to our graduate schools may be remited when they have financial difficulties.This is applicable to overseas students studying at their own expense not to those at the expense of the Japanese Government.

About Audio-Visual Faclities : 86 classrooms and 8 CALL ( Computer Assisted Language Learning ) rooms fully equipped with the latest educational aids are available on three campuses both for the teachers and for the students - for their club activities, for their presentations and so on.
