5. From the Reader

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

* I took Japanese language training at Mie University and did my Master’s at Wakayama University in Economics. I have more and more good memories during my studies and life in Japan. I have met so many people and I understood the Japanese culture and other cultures such as Malaysians, Chinese, etc.

MBOMEYO ASSOUMOU Christian (Gabon)

* I am an alumnus of Hokkaido University. I took my Ph. D in Agricultural Economics. I am so glad to have seen the JASSO eNewsletter, this will really help former students of Japanese universities.
Former Monbusho scholars here have organized a group and we have a lot of activities which we want to share.

Marites G. Vilela

* Very interesting newsletter full of information on study in Japan! This will help students planning to go to Japan to study also. Just reading the experiences of former students make us feel like we are going through the student life in Japan. Exam info will be a good reminder, too!  I would recommend this newsletter to my friends who are planning to go to Japan to study!

YU SEUNG-EUN (Korea)

* Thank you very much for the useful information. I introduced this to my friends who are planning to go to Japan to study. They were very happy. It also reminded me of very good memories of Japan.

JUNG MYOUNG-OK (Korea)

[From the Editor]
It is getting more spring-like day by day in Tokyo. Yellow flowers are in bloom in front of our office. March is a time for saying good-bye and also for making a fresh start in Japan. It is a time for graduation, school admission, and becoming a member of the workforce. When you were students here, you may have been baffled by some Japanese cultures that you encountered for the first time, had fun discussions with your friends, and studied hard at school. I’m sure that, with these memories firmly etched in mind, many of you full of hope left Japan for your future endeavors. I can see that many of you look back on these days with a sense of nostalgia. Our editorial office awaits your fun memories and photos about your student days in Japan. We also simply want to know how you are getting along these days.

We are truly eager to hear from you. Thank you for your attention.

The sixth issue of the newsletter is scheduled to issue on May 10.
Don’t miss it!
