4. JASSO's overseas representative offices
JASSO operates overseas representative offices in the following countries to provide information, consultation, and other services for people interested in studying in Japan.

5. Public facilities to access information on study in Japan
JASSO designates 55 Japan alumni association offices and university libraries in 20 countries and regions around Asia as information bases open to the public, to send information materials to promote studying in Japan.
6. Closing of Information Center for International Education (notice on April 1, 2011)
Information Center for International Education of JASSO (Tokyo, Kobe Satellite, Sapporo and Nagoya) has been closed and stopped a part of its information services as of March 31, following the result of budget screening process operated by the government.
Thank you very much for your assistance to the Information Center for International Education.
Facilities closed:
- Reference Library at Information Center for International Education (Tokyo)
- Reference Library at Kobe Satellite
- Study Abroad Information Desk at Sapporo and Nagoya
Services discontinued:
- Educational advising services by phone, e-mail, interviews (including online) and online question forms
- Services offered at closed facilities
