Residence Hall Entrance Guide
1. Composition of residents to be accepted
|International students:||about 70 percent of the total|
|Japanese students:||about 20 percent of the total|
|Researchers:||about 10 percent of the total|
2. Qualification for residence
|International students||International students who are enrolled in postgraduate school of Japanese universities or research students with equivalent study level of outstanding, have "college student " visa status, and can commute from the TIEC to the universities.|
|Japanese students||Japanese students enrolled in postgraduate school of Japanese universities who can commute from the TIEC and can give advice and guide to international students in their living and studying, as well as take active roles in international exchange programs with English and who are willing to work an active Resident Assistant activites.|
Outstanding foreign researchers who register to Japanese universities or research institutes, have “professor”, “researcher” or “cultural activities” visa status, can commute from the TIEC to the universities or institutes, and a foreign researcher (excluding full-time staff of a university or research institute) with a Ph.D degree at the time of application and who received this degree less than eight years ago.

3. Period of Residence
The maximum period of residence shall be 3 years within the term of study. (Including the period experience of stay at Hall C,D residents as an accompanying family. The longer period is applied.)
4. Rent and other expenses
Additional payment of one month’s rent as an entrance fee (non-returnable) is required.

Utilities and Telephone charge:
Residents must pay for their actual expenses by pre-paid system.
5. Admission method
When the empty room of the constant number with the Tokyo international exchange center, I notify a university or research institute recruitment of residents, as a recommendation method, and this homepage posts an offer.
6. Procedure of application
Applicants submit required documents and application forms through your host universities / institutes.
Direct apply to the TIEC is not acceptable.
