Mar. 1979 Japanese language educators dispatched to the Northeast Normal University (China) Japan Exchange Student Apr. 1979 Jurisdiction transferred to the Ministry of Education. Aug. 1979 Designated as a Ministry of Education Preparatory Education Course (Under Bulletin 143 of the Ministry of Education, students who graduate from this school are deemed to have completed the equivalent of 12 years of school education

Features | JASSO The main features of the Japanese Language Education Center will now be introduced. Designated school that offers preparatory education courses The Center’s “Further Education Course” is recognized as a “University Preparatory Course” by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.To advance to a Japanese university or a vocational school, students have to complete 12 years of education, but the educational period may be shorter depending on the country. What is EJU? | JASSO The Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU) is used to evaluate whether international students who wish to study at the undergraduate level at universities or other such higher educational institutions in Japan possess the Japanese language skills and the basic academic abilities needed to study at those institutions. EJU takes the place of both the Japanese Language Proficiency Test and the General Examination for Foreign Students (no longer administered as of December 2001), which many universities (undergraduate level) and other higher educational institutions in Japan previously required international students to take for admission.

Score | JASSO Score Range The Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU) gives international students the opportunity to take one of the tests required to apply for admission to study in Japan. The EJU is offered twice annually, and students’ scores are valid for two years. Because of this, applicants who take the EJU more than once can submit the test results with the highest score from among the test sessions specified for consideration by the desired university or other such higher educational institutions. Examination Language | JASSO The questions can be written in Japanese or English. (The examination of Japanese as a Foreign Language will be written only in Japanese.) Since the Japanese and English question booklets will be different, according to the requirements of the university they want to enter and the course of study they want to pursue, the examinee should notify which language they prefer in the application.
