JASSO is aligned with the four core components of the Social Bond Principles (June 2018 version). We express a reasonable3 assurance (our highest level of assurance) on the Bond’s contribution to sustainable development. The net proceeds of the Bond will be used the "Category 2 Scholarship Loans" of JASSO. JASSO’s scholarship programmes have two types; "Scholarship Grants" that do not need to be repaid and "Scholarship Loans" that have to be repaid.
