Q. How do I apply for EJU?

A. Please refer to the related link below for EJU application procedures. The information here is updated from time to time.

Q. The name column on the EJU application form is limited to 30 English characters. Since my name exceeds that number, what should I do?

A. Names exceeding 30 characters may be shortened by omitting or abbreviating the middle name or other portions. The name registered in this column must not exceed 30 characters, and will be used on the examination voucher and score confirmation report.

Q. I have a disability. Is it possible for me to take EJU?

A. Yes, individuals with disability are able to take EJU. If you require special accommodations, be sure to contact the JASSO Testing Division (03-6407-7457) in advance and get instructions on the specific procedures.
As a general rule, you will need to prepare an evidence proving the necessity of testing accommodations, such as a doctor’s diagnosis, to apply for such treatment. Also, if you want to use a hearing aid, auxiliary crutch, wheelchair, etc. which you are using in everyday life on the examination day, you will need to contact the JASSO Testing Division as well to obtain the instructions.
Please understand that if making such requests right before the examination date or depending on your request,it may be impossible to provide all aspects of the requested accommodations.

A. This is a request for the examinee’s country or region of origin, or current nation of citizenship. Please feel free to select either category.

Q. There are errors in the details registered when I submitted my application. Can I correct it?

A. If within the application acceptance period, corrections can be made on the EJU Online “Check and Change Application Info” page. Please be aware, to change only the EJU Online MyPage information is not sufficient to adjust the application data. If using the Group Application format, please request the group coordinator for corrections.

Q. I want to make changes in my examination subjects.

A. If within the application acceptance period, changes can be made on the EJU Online “Check and Change Application Info” page.
However, if you paid the examination fee for one subject (10,000 yen) but wish to take two or more subjects, you must pay an additional fee for those subjects (19,000 yen) for a reapplication. Paying only the balance(9,000 yen) is not sufficient.
Meanwhile, if the balance payment is not made by the determined deadline, the application itself will be cancelled. In this case, you will be unable to take the test for the first subject for which payment you already completed.
In addition, it is impossible to reduce the number of examination subject(from three to two or one subject, from two to one subject).
If using the Group Application format, please request the group coordinator for corrections.

Q. I noticed errors in my application details after the application deadline. Can this be corrected before the EJU date?

A. No changes can be made after the application deadline expires. If errors exist in examination voucher entries (name, gender, date of birth, country/region), please use the mistaken examination voucher to take EJU on the assigned date.
After the exam, corrections can be requested in the name, gender, date of birth and country/region entries appearing on the examination voucher.
