Q. Is the EJU offered outside of Japan?
A. The EJU is offered in 17 cities in the following 13 countries and regions.

Q. Is the EJU offered in China?
A. The EJU has been offered in Hong Kong since the second session of the 2010 examination. Please direct inquiries concerning application procedures in Hong Kong to the following EJU Overseas Representative (Hong Kong).
Q. Is the EJU offered in the United States, Europe and Africa?
A. At present, the EJU is not offered in the United States, Europe or the Africa region. This is because the majority of EJU examinees are from countries in East Asia or Southeast Asia, with only an extremely limited number coming from the U.S., Europe or Africa.
Q. If the EJU is not offered in my own country, may I take the exam in another country?
A. Yes, this is possible if the following conditions are satisfied.
- - The availability of a representative in the country or region where you wish to take the exam who will be capable of handling the application procedures (including the obtaining of the exam application form and paying the examination fee), as well as receiving the examination voucher.
- - The ability to understand the language used in the test site on the day of the exam.
- - Entry visa has to be obtained by the applicant themself. Please be aware that neither JASSO nor any EJU Overseas Representatives are able to issue the documents required to apply for entry visas.

Q. Is JASSO able to issue the documents required for visa applications?
A. Neither JASSO nor any of the EJU Overseas Representatives are able to issue the documents required to apply for visas to enter Japan. The only document we can issue by the date of the examination is the “examination voucher.” Therefore, please confirm the specific documents required to apply for a visa with the nearest overseas Japanese diplomatic mission (Embassy, Consulate-General, etc.).
