For EJU Examinees with Disability

Examinees wishing to request testing accommodation upon taking the EJU due to illness, injury, disability or other special needs, are requested to contact the JASSO Testing Division either by telephone or email prior to applying to take the examination. Examinees taking EJU outside Japan are requested to contact the application offices outside Japan. Detailed instructions on the procedures necessary to request these services will be provided at that time. Examinees who use hearing aids, crutches, wheelchairs or other devices or supports in their everyday activities are also requested to request accommodations concerning the need to use these items during the exam.

It is also possible to request such accommodation due to accidents, illnesses or other unexpected situations which occur after applying for the EJU. Examinees are asked to contact the JASSO Testing Division or the application offices outside Japan immediately in such cases. Please be aware, however, that due to the conditions at testing sites or other factors, it may not be possible to respond to all details of the requested accommodation.
Regarding the application procedures, as a general rule, submission of a physician’s medical certificate or other document verifying the need for testing accommodation is required. To learn more about the details of these procedures, as well to confirm accommodations granted for EJU examinees in the past, please access the following websites.
