Development and Revision in EJU

The questions of EJU are designed to measure the Japanese-language proficiency and basic academic abilities of international students who wish to study at the undergraduate level at universities or other such higher educational institutions in Japan.

Revision of the Syllabus for Basic Academic Abilities

The syllabus for Basic Academic Abilities, "Science", "Japan and the World" and "Mathematics " are based on the Japanese high school curriculum guidelines. In accordance with the implementation of new curriculum guidelines for high schools in Japan in April 2013, we have revised the Syllabus for Basic Academic Abilities in the EJU. The revised syllabus for " Science " and "Mathematics" was implemented from the 1st session of the 2015 EJU. The revised syllabus for “Japan and the World” is to be implemented from the 1st session of the 2016 EJU.

Revision of the Syllabus for Japanese as a Foreign Language

Japanese as a Foreign Language consists of two major parts production (writing) and comprehension (reading comprehension, listening comprehension, and listening & reading comprehension). The syllabus for Japanese as a Foreign Language is revised to show more concretely the type of abilities that are examined, and implemented from the 1st session of the 2010 EJU.
