Examination Vouchers (for taking EJU in Japan)
Q. My examination voucher has not arrived. What should I do?
A. If your examination voucher has not arrived 10 days after the mailing date entered in EJU Bulletin, print out a “Temporary Examination Voucher” from the EJU Online “Check and Change Application Info” page. On the exam day, submit that temporary voucher to the “Temporary Examination Voucher Counter” set up at the examination venue. A temporary voucher will be issued with the same information (examination registration number, examination venue, etc.) as the examination voucher.
If your examination voucher has been sent back, arrange for staffers to check the temporary examination voucher and personal ID (passport or residence card) that you have brought with you. If the temporary voucher is confirmed as being your own, it can be exchanged with the voucher that was sent back. If the examination voucher has not be sent back, also arrange for staffers to check the temporary examination voucher and personal ID that you have brought with you. If the temporary voucher can be identified with yourself, you may take EJU using the temporary voucher.
Q. To apply to my university of choice, is it possible to receive the examination voucher earlier than the determined mailing date?
A. No, the examination voucher cannot be mailed out early. It is also impossible to send copies of vouchers by e-mail or other means.
Q. I indicated my Japanese language school as the address to which the examination voucher is to be sent. After applying, however, I stopped attending that school. What do I do now?
A. No address changes can be made after the application deadline expires. Because the examination voucher will arrive at the indicated Japanese language school, you need to contact the school to receive the voucher.
Q. I registered the wrong address when I applied. What do I do now?
A. If your examination voucher has not arrived 10 days after the mailing date entered in EJU Bulletin, there is a possibility that the voucher has been sent back to the EJU Uketsuke-Center.
In such cases, print out a “Temporary Examination Voucher” from the EJU Online “Check and Change Application Info” web page. On the EJU day, submit that temporary voucher to the “Temporary Examination Voucher Counter” set up at the examination venue. A temporary voucher will be issued with the same information (examination registration number, examination venue, etc.) as the examination voucher.
If your examination voucher has been sent back, arrange for staffers to check the temporary examination voucher and personal ID (passport or residence card) that you have brought with you. If the temporary voucher can be confirmed as being your own, it can be exchanged with the voucher that was sent back. If the examination voucher has not been sent back, also arrange for staffers to check the temporary examination voucher and personal ID that you have brought with you. If the temporary voucher can be confirmed as being your own, you may take EJU using the temporary voucher.
Q. I needed to temporarily return to my home country, and have not received my examination voucher. What do I do now?
A. If there is someone living at the address that you registered when applying for EJU, arrange for that person to obtain the examination voucher in your place. When there is no such person living at the address, there is a possibility that the voucher has been sent back to the EJU Uketsuke-Center. In such cases, please refer to the answers to the following question.
Q. I lost my examination voucher before taking EJU. Can the voucher be reissued?
