Score Report and Notification

From the year 2021, when applying for the examination in Japan, you can select the online applications only. Then you (each examinee) will be able to confirm your score and print your "Score Confirmation Report" online. Consequently sending your score report by mail will be finished.

When you take the examination outside Japan, you will be able to confirm your score and print your "Score Confirmation Report" online after making your “my page” after applications, but, for a while, we will send your score reports by mail under considering the web situation in some places.

For Examinees in Japan

1.Announcement of results to examinees

The results of examination are announced on the date below.

1st Session (June): July 28, 2021 (Wednesday)
2nd Session (November): December 24, 2021 (Friday)

Regarding the examinees in Japan, since the score report which used to be sent by mail will be finished, when you confirm your score, never failed to check it out after making “my page ID”. The person in charge of group applications cannot browse the scores on EJU online.

The examinees applying for the examination after making individual “my page” will be able to see their score online. Also, from the year 2021, they will be able to print their score as “Score Confirmation Report”. The scores that the examinees can confirm will be only the valid ones among the exams which the candidates apply for the exams by using the “my page” logged in.

Even in case examinees have not made an application through individual “my page”, from the year 2021, by registering a “my page ID” after making application, each examinee will be able to confirm your score and print your "Score Confirmation Report" online. Since the score report will not be mailed, never failed to check out the score after making “my page”.

2.Score references from schools like universities

Schools like universities will make references about the examinees' scores as follows.

(1) When applying to schools, write your examinee number, name in the Roman alphabet, date of birth, and other required information on the university's application form. If you are planning to take both the first session (June) and the second session (November), write only the examinee number of one session (whichever you prefer) on the university's application form. Please be noticed that you can not request to choose the subject of each session: e.g. first session of "Japanese as a Foreign Language" and second session of "Japan and the World".

(2) Some schools require students to have test vouchers when applying, so be sure not to lose your voucher before you have completed enrollment.

(3) After the examination, the school for which you applied will request Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) to provide your score.

(4) JASSO will provide the schools with your score and, if you took the Japanese as a Foreign Language test, a copy of your answers for the writing portion of the test will be also provided.

3.Inquiries on results

JASSO does not respond to inquiries or doubts raised by examinees concerning the results reported to them. Also, JASSO does not show or return the answer sheets to examinees after the examination, regardless of their reason for wanting access to the sheets.

For Examinees outside Japan

1.Announcement of results to examinees

The score report will be sent to the overseas representatives of each cities.

1st Session (June): July 28, 2021 (Wednesday)
2nd Session (November): December 24, 2021 (Friday)

When the overseas representative receive your score report from Japan Student Services Organization, the score report will be sent to address which you wrote in the "Label for Score Report" or distributed at the designated location.

The score report will not be reissued.

From the year 2021, even in case you take the exam outside Japan, by your registering an EJU Online my page after making application, you (each candidate) will be able to confirm your score and print your "Score Confirmation Report" online.

2. What to do if score report does not arrive

If the score report does not arrive by the timing below, please contact the overseas representative in each country.

1st Session (June): Early August, 2021
2nd Session (November): Early January, 2022

3. Score references from schools like universities

Schools like universities will make references about the examinees' scores as follows.
